Here's an idea.

If this whole thing with the server / display pets doesn't get sorted out, here's an idea. Move everything to the forums, and we have to buy items with masks to move the pets to the next stage. It may be more work, but you can put in some mods to help with that.

Hm, I might be able make a text box on profiles here where people could display their pets, but unless people can be bothered to put all of their new pets in their profile I'd need a new mod or two to keep checking for when people adopted pets and put them on the profile page... Though the images would still not be working if the site was down. I could upload all the pictures to my photobucket account, but then that means manually changing the bbcode, and sticking it under the pictures on the profile or something... even then if the sites down theres no way to level them. :/ That is a good idea with moving them up to the next level, though if the site goes down for a day again the orders will stack up, and I know people like things to be easy and fast... The best thing I could do is change server really. Maybe I should try and find a programmer to help run the site, that might work then...

I meant completely abandon the myadopts server and put everything from myadopts permanently onto the forums (though you will probably have to use photobucket for the images) and have like an inventory forum that has pages of the pets that people have acquired or something along the lines of that. Like a forums-based game.

o.o Wow, that'd be a big change... And I'd be very tempted if I didnt have the feeling it'd take a lot of work... I mean imagine if it became a high traffic site and we had a ton of members online trying to level pets every day, I dont know if mods could keep up... I would love to know how magistream did theirs since I think their on a similar forum to this and their pets are incorporated nicely. And I still think having a technical person would be a godsend since my knowledge of how this stuff works is a bit limited. I could try messing about with flash, but it'd probably take ages to learn what I needed to know. >.< Though I'm stuck anyway until myadopts fixes it self and I could transfer peoples pets over... If only there was a free forum based pet code...

Can you block people from making new accounts? That would at least stop an inflow of people when the work load gets to be hard to keep up with.

It's probably an option of last resort, if you can't find anything else. I don't know much about programming.

Well actually I may be able to manage it if its possible in php, I'm not too bad with php and html. I nearly managed to make a promo code page last night, and I know a few tricks, I mainly just need the click counting pet code. >.> But they all seem to cost money online.... If I did manage to figure out how to do everything here I'd ask the members what they thought first though.

Personally, I wouldn't mind any kind of change with all the server problems. The server has always kinda been tempermental since I first joined a myadopts site.

Yeh and I'm a bit unsure about changing the way pets are displayed... I think it could go wrong and I would prefer to have my own site... If anyone can get a php expert I'll seriously try making my own code on here. >.<
